Some good news..

Its been a while since I posted....my humble apologies to those who check my site from time to time to catch up on my adventures (or lack thereof) here in the Back Forty. Anyhoo...I have some good news for a change. It's been a couple of years since I had a pet, mainly because of my living arrangements, as well as the heartbreak I felt when my dear dog passed away. To be honest, I still cry over him now and then. I have aquired 2 parakeets, which now brings a total of 6 birds in my parents home. A lady friend of mine was giving away her 2 parakeets for free, plus the cage because she's moving away and didn't have time to invest in them, so Mom got them. I fell in love with them instantly...they're brothers, hatched a year and a half ago, and are small, with green feathers, with a bright blue on the undersides ofthe wings and a bit of blue behind their eyes. I don't know what kind of parakeets they are exactly, but they're sooo cute, and they seem to like me, when I go up to their cages they make the cutest little chirps! Anyhoo, Mom saw how much I liked them, so she said I could have them for my own, which makes me absolutely ecstatic! We decided their names would be Jon and Ponch, after the cop characters from that TV show C.H.I.P.S. Yeah...I guess I'm dating myself here, but hey, Eric Estrada was awesome as Poncharello in that show! Casey was a little upset about our new feathered friends, but calmed down after I talked to him and let him out of his cage to hang with me at the computer. Casey has grown quite attached to me, and will get upset if he catches me coming or going without acknowleding him. What can I say? He's our little Diva! Cosmo is getting better with me..I sat by his cage the other day and talked to him, and now he'll talk when I'm in the room, so cool. He still won't let me handle him, but am working on him. The cockatiels, Sunny and Coco, couldn't give two shits whether I pay attention to them or not, so long as they have their food, water, and a clean cage, they're happy. So yeah..things are looking up.
I've also been saving some coin so I can go on a trip in the distant future...I want to go to Mexico, but I'd love to cross the Atlantic and check out some places I've always wanted to go. I've got quite a bit saved so far, and the other day I won some money, so I put that money aside for the trip. Yeah, its been a good week so far. Can't complain.
Sooo...Blogger question....hmmm....how about some suggestions of some cool places to travel that you think I'd like...heres something to go on...I like places with interesting histories,people, and good beer. K? Let me know! Until then...keep on Blogging!
